You are not alone

PSALMS recently completed a review of work currently being done in and through churches with children     0-11 years, based on 70 encounters with church leaders and children’s workers from all denominations, and on visits to local children’s and family events run by Christians between Autumn 2010 and Spring 2011.

We looked at what is happening for children in churches and through churches across the area covered by the Stroud Deanery (broadly the Five Valleys) and the Thameshead Benefice (villages around Kemble).

At times churches can feel isolated and discouraged in their children’s ministry, but this survey demonstrates that there is much to celebrate and build on and clearly identifies the rich experience and gifting across the churches.  In fact, many of the strengths and challenges discussed are common themes across many churches in the area. It’s very important to realise that you’re not alone!

In the summary of the review outlines the activities and initiatives that are under way and shares some insights and points for consideration to support exploration on how to move forward in churches and communites.
